      Demographic

Visually Impaired Singles is not only open to those who are blind or have some other visual impairment but anybody who would like to date them.

This is definitely one of the Best Dating Sites for Blind People.

The site has users from all over the world, many of who have tried dating on conventional dating sites and struggled for any kind of success.

Luckily, now they have a site that caters specifically to them and is filled with users just like them.

      What could be better?

And Visually Impaired Singles not only caters to heterosexual men and women but gays and lesbians too.

Let’s take a look at how it all works.

The 4 Best Dating Sites for Blind People [year] - Full review 2

Ease of Use “mobile and desktop version”

Just six steps are all you need to register for Visually Impaired Singles.

That means providing your gender and the gender you would like to meet, your age, your location, your email address, a username and a password.

Waiting for the confirmation email proved to be a little challenging.

The first one I didn’t receive but after asking for it to be resent, on the second occasion it came through and I was able to register and complete my profile, something you cannot skip on the site.

Your profile includes appearance parameters, ethnicity, the ethnicity you are looking for (including no preference), if you have children or not, a profile headline, a description of yourself and a profile picture.

The first thing that struck me when I logged in was the preference given to the roulette-style matching game the site uses.

It’s just like any other that you find on dating sites.

You can either click “yes” if you like someone or “pass” if you want to see the next person.

If they click “yes” to your profile then you have a match.

Visually Impaired Singles also give you other matches below this that you can browse through.

I love the overall modular design of the site and it has minimal menus through which you can find your way around.

Of course, this includes a search menu and your inbox but also includes a “Meet” option.

Here you can find people that you’ve indicated that you want to meet or other users that want to meet you.

This all comes from the matchup game we spoke about earlier.

The search engine itself has a basic option which just a few parameters that you can set.

As a regular user, however, you also get to use the advanced search engine which includes a parameter where you search the site for users with visual impairments only.

Once you’ve found someone, you are free to “like” their profile or send them a “flirt” but messaging is behind a paywall.

So if you find someone that you would love to get to know a little bit better, your only option to contact them looking into membership.

As for an app, Visually Impaired Singles doesn’t have one as yet.

      Visually Impaired Singles Cost

Other than messaging, becoming a member of the site has tons of benefits.

      • You can see full-sized photos of all members
      • You can watch member videos
      • You can view full profiles of all users
      • You can see who likes your profile and who wants to meet you
      • You can use even more search parameters when looking for love

So what’s the cost of membership then?

Well, the good news is that Visually Impaired Singles includes a 5-day trial offer and that’s the best option first up to see if the site has users near you.

Here’s a full breakdown of membership prices.

Please note, at the time of this review, there was a special of 30% off all packages.

      • 5-day trial membership – $3.75
      • 1-month membership – $9.50
      • 3-month membership – $22.00

One thing to note, if you sign up for the trial membership, it will rebill at $30 per month if you don’t cancel or change to another option.

While Visually Impaired Singles doesn’t have tons of features, the pricing reflects that.

      FAQ

      1. Will I be able to find matchups near my location on a niche site such as this.

      That depends really.

Without a doubt, this is a niche site so ultimately this will depend on where you live, the larger the city, the better.

      2. At what age can I register for the site?

Like most dating sites, there is an age restriction if you’d like to use Visually Impaired Singles.

That mean’s you need to be 18 or older to register for a profile.

      Overall Rating

Visually Impaired Singles is certainly a site that people with sight problems should check out in their effort to find love.

It’s not the biggest site in the world in terms of users, but that’s understandable.

What I do like about it is that while normal users can sign up to meet blind people, if you want to just search people with visual impairments, you can set that as a search parameter.

And although you need to be a member to message anyone, the membership pricing is extremely cheap.

As for an overall rating, I am scoring Visually Impaired Singles 3.5 out of 5.

The 4 Best Dating Sites for Blind People [year] - Full review 4

      Demographic

Whispers 4u is not a dating site just for blind people or those who have other visual impairments.

It’s a dating site that covers all major disabilities as well as other illnesses.

It’s a trusted dating site that’s been operating since 2002 and has users from all over the world.

The majority of users, however, come from the United States, Canada and various countries in Europe.

The search for user numbers proved fruitless, unfortunately, but Whispers 4u says that hundreds of new members sign up each day for the site.

Also, since it’s been in operation for close to two decades now, Whispers 4u should boast a fairly large userbase.

But remember, not all of them will have visual impairments.

Ease of Use “mobile and desktop version”

At this point in time, Whispers 4u does not include an app for either Apple or Android handsets.

It does include a mobile mode, however, so you can register on your phone if you’d prefer to do that.

If you choose to register via the website or via your phone, the registration process is straight forward.

To start you will need to provide all the regular information that dating sites require like your gender, what you are looking for, your birth date, your screen name, a password, email address and location.

There is one small difference from regular dating sites, however,

You will need to also say what your specific health condition is.

For those who are blind or who have other visual impairments, the option here would be “sight problems”.

You will need to activate your account through an email sent to you from the site.

Once you’ve done that, there are some profile questions to deal with before you can finally access the site.

The overall design of Whispers 4u is simple yet effective.

Get ready for some onsite advertising, however, specifically below the masthead of the site.

To find your way around Whispers 4u, you will only use the menu system.

      These include:

      • Home screen
      • Profile
      • Search
      • Browse
      • Chat
      • Mail
      • Undateables
      • Flirt

Most of those are self-explanatory but I want to expand on a few of them.

Flirt is a matchup game where you can go through users that are near you.

If you like one, you can flirt with them, or if not simple move to the next.

From this menu you can also see who has flirted with you and if there was any mutual flirting (you flirted with them and they flirted with you).

As for Undateables, that tells you about a show that appeared on Channel 4 in the United Kingdom on which users from Whispers 4u featured.

So yes, this is a pretty well-known dating site, that’s for sure.

The search engine on Whispers 4u is extremely impressive.

There are a few parameters you can set here but most importantly, you can search the user database just for users with sight issues.

As a member of the site, however, you can adjust even more parameters to further adjust your searches.

While you can send them a virtual card, messaging them is out of the question unless you opt for a membership.

      Whispers 4u Cost

While this is a niche dating site, it’s not going to cost you an arm and a leg to become a member.

Membership also brings a number of extra benefits including:

      • Text chat
      • Viewing of media galleries
      • Advanced search features
      • Unlimited messaging

Membership costs for Whispers 4u is as follows:

      • 1-month – $19.95
      • 3-months – $44.85 ($14.95 per month)
      • 6-months – $71.70 ($11.95 per month)

Whispers 4u also offers VIP membership for an extra $8.95 per month on all the above packages.

      That allows users to:

      • Be visible to all other members
      • Priority list their profiles
      • Connect with all other users

      FAQ

      1. How extensive is the user profiles on Whispers 4u?

      Very extensive.

There’s a lot of information for you to fill in on your profile.

All of this information can be used as search parameters when members launch searches.

If you are a member, you can search according to these various parameters as well.

      2. This is a dating site for people with disabilities, right? Can I search specifically for users that have sight problems?

      Yes, you can.

You can search for many types of health problems, disabilities or other issues.

And it’s free to do so.

      Overall Rating

Today, Whispers 4U gets an excellent rating of 3.75 out of 5.

It’s a site that has a lot to offer and I love the fact that you can search for users according to their health issues or disabilities, including visual impairment problems.

I also love that the site provides you with a very detailed profile and then allows you to search for specific parameters when looking for potential matchups.

It’s a well-designed dating site and one that you should consider in your search for love.

      • Overall quality – 3/5

      Pros

      Cons

      Best Limited Time Offers

"Best Matchmaker" "Discreet Dating""Best for Flings"

      • You have to wait 24 hours for your profile to be approved
      • Not the biggest user base

      Demographic

So while Dating4Disabled is strictly a site that only for visually impaired people, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t consider it in your quest for love.

That’s because covers all disabilities including blindness and other visual problems.

So this is a site where people who are blind or struggle with their site can meet people just like them.

So don’t be put off by the name of the site.

After all visual impairment is as much of a disability as someone who only has one leg, right?

Of course, this isn’t a commercial online dating site and even though it appeals to disabled people, the user base is not massive although it continues to grow since its inception in 2005.

Most members of the site are between 18 and 40 years old and the site doesn’t only cater to heterosexuals but the LGBTQ community as well.

Ease of Use “mobile and desktop version”

The first thing you will notice when starting your Dating4Disabled registration process is just how involved it is.

You are going to have to set aside about 10 to 15 minutes to register and complete your profile as that forms part of the process.

There is a lot of information to provide here, from your appearance to lifestyle parameters, what you looking for from the site and your sexual orientation.

If you can think of something that dating related, believe me, it’s probably covered during this process.

      But that’s a good thing.

I am a huge fan of profiles with plenty of information.

It’s because if people fill them in, you can learn so much about them before you even initiate contact.

A little thing that irked me was the fact that once you’ve registered, you will be given a link to sign in.

But then you have to wait up to 24 hours before your profile is approved by the system administrator at Dating4Disabled.

Overall the site has a clean and unique design but you will notice that it has a fair bit of advertising on site.

The site operates much like other dating sites.

You can find matchups from those that appear on the site under new members, for example, or you can launch searches of your own.

To search, click on the microscope icon and go from there but as a paying member, you will get more search options, including the ability to search for specific disabilities, like blindness for example.

As for messaging, you can only read one message in your inbox each month for free, so yes, you are going to need to become a member to use Dating4Disabled to its full potential.

If you’d prefer to sign up for the site via an app, then you can download the Dating4Disabled app for either an Android or Apple device.

      Dating4Disabled Cost

So with membership a necessity to have a hope of looking for the perfect match and connecting with them, what will it cost you?

      Here’s a breakdown:

      • 1-month membership – $14.95
      • 3-month membership – $39.90 ($13.30 per month)
      • 6-month membership – $69.90 ($11.65 per month)
      • 12-month membership – $120.00 ($12.00 per month)

There’s not a lot of features on the site so a 1-month membership at $14.95 is a perfect price for what is offered.

      FAQ

      1. Can I contact someone without signing up for membership?

No, but you can read messages that you may have received from other users.

Dating4Disable issues you with a point each month and this allows you to read a message in your inbox.

      2. Are the blogs and forums free to use for everyone?

      Yes, they are.

There are rules and guidelines that must be abided by, however.

If you don’t your posts will be deleted.

      Overall Rating

It’s important that if you are looking for a dating site to meet fellow people with visual impairment that you don’t dismiss Dating4Disabled.

The fact that you can search specifically for blind people or those with other eyesight problems means that starting a profile here worth it just to see if there are any other users near your location.

Also, membership is going to be a must to launch in-depth searches as well as for messaging potential matchups but the pricing thereof makes it worthwhile.

As for a score, today Dating4Disabled gets 3.25 out of 5.

The 4 Best Dating Sites for Blind People [year] - Full review 5

      Vorail

      Ratings

      • Signing up – 4/5
      • Making contact – 3.5/5
      • Profile quality – N/A
      • Overall quality – 3.5/5

      Pros

      • A totally unique experience
      • Easy to sign up for
      • Can be used through the website or via app

      Cons

      • A small userbase (that’s growing)
      • Difficult to learn how to use

      Demographic

From the outset let me just say that Vorail is not a dating site as we understand online dating sites to be.

But it is a platform that blind users have started to make use of as a way of introducing themselves and getting to know each other better.

And it’s for that reason that we are including it today in this article.

Vorail is described as an app that allows you to meet people by their voices.

“Everyone deserves the chance to be loved for who they are,” says the Vorail website and nothing could be more truthful.

That said, while it’s a platform used by the visually impaired to meet new people, it’s very difficult to judge it as a dating site because it’s so different.

Also, it’s pretty new, so the user base is building slowly.

Ease of Use “mobile and desktop version”

While there is a Vorail website, it’s clear that the easiest way to use this tool is by downloading the app.

It’s available on both the Google Play Store as well as the Apple store.

For the purposes of this review, I am going to talk you through the sign-up process using the Google version of Vorail.

Once you’ve downloaded the app, you can log in using your Google account.

That’s the only option I was given, so I am not sure what you would use if you don’t have a Google account but I assume there are other options for logging in.

After that, you register as a user by providing:

      • Your username
      • Your password
      • Your gender
      • Your date of birth

That’s all you need to do and once you’ve completed it, you are taken to a spoken tutorial that tell you how Vorail works, specifically in terms of various swipes you use for commands.

It’s pretty intensive but well worth listening to because, without it, you are never going to know how you go about navigating the site.

Here’s just a small example of how it works.

      • 1 finger swipe left or right = previous or next item on the feed
      • 1 finger swipe up = feed menu
      • 1 finger swipe down = item menu

As I said, it takes a little bit to get used to as there are many ways to navigate the site.

But once you get the hang of it, you can start to hear what other users are posting or post your own voice notes.

The site is used in numerous ways by the visually impaired.

Of course, it’s used to meet new people as we’ve already said but also to provide help and support to others and answer a number of different questions users might post in their voice recordings.

      Vorail Cost

A present you can use Vorail online and on a Google handset for free.

The Apple version offers a free month and then you are charged $5 per month thereafter subscription fees.

      FAQ

      1. Is Vorail only for blind and visually impaired people?

While anyone could technically sign up for Vorail, there is no real need for sighted people to do so.

This is a platform aimed at the blind and visually impaired.

      2. Is Vorail a dating app?

No, it’s not a dating app in the traditional sense of the world.

It’s a way for blind and visually impaired people to help each other with various problems they might have or with advice.

But it’s also used to find love and there have been lots of success stories of people who have used the app to get to know each other and then went on to tie the knot.

      Overall Rating

While it can be a little confusing at first to get used to, there is no denying that Vorail, while a little different, has huge potential for the visually impaired.

The user base is growing steadily as more and more people become aware of what Vorail is capable of.

For the visually impaired, it’s an app that you should have on your phone.

It gets a rating of 3.7 out of 5.
