Are you ready for my latest men guide I would like to share with you? Brace yourselves, since I have a bit of an exotic treat for you!
If you are new here, make sure to check out all the men’s country guides to see how Moroccan men compare in all categories.
Working as an ESL teacher for a few years now gave me an excellent opportunity to roam the world and meet various people and nationalities.
One of the countries and people I was most fascinated with is Morocco and Moroccans due to the exquisite cultural mix you witness daily. Moreover, being a single girl, I was mostly fascinated by Moroccan men.
As you are guessing, let me introduce you today to handsome Moroccan men. And their Instagram photos too!
What Makes Moroccan Men Different from Other Men Physically and Personally?
If International dating is your thing, you have come to the right place; since what is more international than men from the African continent?
I am aware that there are multiple Moroccan men stereotypes going around, as is the case for other Arabs as well, but let us dispense with these step by step.
First of all, if you are picturing typical Moroccan guys as dark-skinned as Arabs are, well, sorry to disappoint you. Typical Moroccan men and Moroccan people, in general, declare themselves as Arab-Berbers due to the mix of ancient inhabitants and the subsequent Arab conquest.
Nevertheless, you will soon like this cultural mix, especially when you figure out the Spanish and French influence.
If you think why only 8.5/10, well the reason is the height. No matter how hot Moroccan men are, they are not as tall as an average Serbian or men from the Netherlands.
Although they live under the hot Mediterranean and Atlantic sun, their skin is slightly paler than compared to other Northern Africans.
Moroccan males lead a healthy life. They enjoy a diverse diet, from fruits and vegetables to fish and meat.
What adds to their general good looks is visiting hammam (public bathroom) and spending nights in the Sahara desert. Moreover, they are huge fans of surfing and water sports in general. And besides, they also go hiking often enough so they do not have a problem with obesity as a nation as is the case in the USA for example.
Due to the above, they do need to spend a lot of time in the gym since they stay fit thanks to their highly active lifestyle. The gym is a mere addition to their already well-shaped bodies.
Surprisingly, they are stylish!
I say surprisingly since you might think about how they give in to the cultural background and influence wearing only the traditional clothes.
However, this is not the case with your target group, i.e. young Moroccan guys.
Moreover, you will often see sexy Moroccan men visiting barbers and hairdressers so they are always well-trimmed and well-groomed.
Next, handsome Moroccan guys follow the latest fashion trends and are in this respect similar to the Italians. As a matter of fact, they sometimes tend to overdo it, if you ask me since they can go for the boyish Justin Bieber look. But, still, it all looks cute in the end.
Additional Rating – The Tinder 1000 Swipe Rating
On top of the physical trait ratings for Moroccan men, we have also created our own additional rating from the Moroccan men we see on Tinder. We call it the 1,000 Tinder swipe rating. It is extremely accurate and gives a very good overall picture of the men and how attractive they are.
This is how it works.
We swiped through 1000 different profiles in all of the major cities of Morocco and took note of how many handsome men there are. We jotted down how many 8’s, 9’s and 10’s there are based on their profile pictures. Here is a quick breakdown.
- 0-100 is poor
- 100-200 is OK
- 200-300 is Good
- 300 – 400 Is Incredible
- 400 + is Mindblowing (There are only a few of these)
With a Tinder Plus subscription, you can teleport to anywhere in the world and swipe for yourself. Find out more below In the section about how to meet Moroccan men. Also, make sure to check out my other country guides to see how their Tinder scores compare.
What are Moroccan men Like Personally?
To be honest, when I just arrived in Morocco I had my doubts about Moroccans. Us the Westerners are influenced by a somewhat wrong representation of these men.
We tend to believe they are “extreme” in everything they do just because they are Muslims. Still, I realised in no time that they are quite liberal considering the circumstances.
1. Gentlemen Rating
As for their gentleman traits, we are fully misled about the issue. During my stay, rarely have I seen a woman struggling with bags or suitcases.
The males alongside, whether fiancé or other family members, always took care of that leaving the women to only care about haggling (learn this since you will need it when you hit the local souqs).
Next, with a Moroccan, you get free meals anywhere you go. They consider it as a sign of hospitality if they pay for the meals since you are a guest.
Even when the door closes, he will be fully respectful and caring.
While it is true they do not give up their beliefs, a Moroccan boyfriend will not impose any conditions in terms of religious conversion. He’ll stick to what he believes in, and will let you stick to yours.
In Moroccan culture, the male is the head of the family but still, he will heed counsel from his family members. However, once he has made his decision he will stand by it and will keep the given promise.
During my stay in Morocco, I often heard question what are Moroccan men like in relationships? since their religion allows them to take four fives, all legal.
Well, some of the men will be disappointed to hear that hot Moroccan guys in vast majority choose to take one wife only and remain loyal.
Besides the romantic relationships, they are loyal in every other aspect.
Thanks to the deeply rooted religious beliefs (i.e. good moral principles) in their conscience, when dating Moroccan guys, you will not have any issues with their dishonesty.
Of course, a local salesman will try to sell you something overpriced, but otherwise, you will not have to worry about him hiding stuff from you.
Even if he does something you don’t like he will man up and admit his mistake.
5. How Protective are They?
Even from their early days, Moroccan boys are raised to take care of and protect the ones weaker from themselves.
So, once you end up dating a Moroccan guy, you will never feel like you are alone. He will be there for you in any situation.
He will protect you from the bad things and from other men too. This is not to say he is jealous (well, he is a bit), he just won’t let others disrespect you.
6. Are they resourceful?
Again, Moroccan guys are raised to be the providers in the house. This is not something you can take away from them. He will not stop you from working yourself but he will still want to feel like “the man” of the house.
And, I’m sure you know all the tricks on how to do that even you earn more than him.
Besides being resourceful in this way, he will always have a surprise up his sleeve to make your day more interesting. He will take you to a surprise hiking or a road trip so you don’t feel bored.
I have to give and 8/10 here since they might strike you as boyish and immature when you first meet them.
Namely, they are overprotected by their mothers and female family members in general, so until they decide to settle down with someone they spend their days having fun with friends.
Still, once you win their heart he will be all serious.
If you are curious about what are Moroccan men like in terms of their self-confidence, I can tell you this is something they need to work on.
Dating Moroccan guys seemed impossible at first since they would barely speak to me.
However, later on, when they felt comfortable they would woo me openly. Marriage proposals on a daily basis were a normal thing!
Still, the start was quite a rocky one!
9. Are they friendly or reserved?
As mentioned in the previous part of my guide, sexy Moroccan guys take time to adjust to you as a foreigner.
At first, they will be reserved, but once they let their guard down you will see that they are very open and friendly. After that, you will get regular dinner invitations and invitations to family celebrations and weddings.
This might seem a bit strange at first as we have a bit different idea about what is friendly, but this is all normal for them.
So don’t be all weirder out and enjoy your time there!
I must say, these men are a departure from the typical western men you are used to.
The culture and the exoticness are charming, isn’t it?
Don’t stop here, read further to know more about these men and their shortcomings.
Where to Meet Moroccan Men
If you wonder how to meet Moroccan men even before you get to Morocco, I have a suggestion for you.
Moroccan guys are into phones, gadgets and the Internet in general and are big fans of meeting and dating online.
And for all you American women looking for Moroccan men, here comes a perfect tool to start.
I have to admit that I used some other platforms at first, but I see that currently, MarocDating is the most popular one by far.
Although it is a rather young dating website, MarocDating is highly popular in Morocco. It gives you a good start on how to meet a Moroccan guy.
Interestingly enough, the website welcomes both straight people and homosexuals. Now tell me, are you still thinking how close-minded Moroccans are?
As for my readers interested in single Moroccan guys, the site mostly offers male profiles, so your search will be faster and more efficient.
Girls, an app perfect for us! Finally!
The registration process is fairly simple.
You will have to provide your gender and gender preferences, then enter your e-mail and set the password. Finally, add some personal details immediately to avoid adding them later on.
Upon successful registration, you are free to browse other people’s profiles.
Moreover, you can conduct the search based on age and gender or whether they are currently online.
You can even search for profiles with added photos if you are the visual type and like to know what you are dealing with.
In addition, I will suggest that you go for the paid subscription plans so you can get the full site experience.
And due to the culturally specific codes, the site guarantees anonymity to its users and safe dating experience.
This might be a good start for you to see in advance what are Moroccan men like.
Pros and Cons of Dating a Moroccan Man
Through some previous stories, we established that international dating has its good sides and the bad ones too.
As for dating Moroccan men, let me start with the good ones first, of course, and tell you a little bit more about what are Moroccan guys like in relationships.
1. Experiencing Different Culture
For all of us in love with roaming the world and getting to know remote and exotic regions, dating foreign men is like a special treat.
Arab-Islamic culture is a rather specific one and it propagates certain life rules which are highly misinterpreted. Once you go out with a Moroccan male you will completely forget about Arab and Moroccan guy stereotypes.
Thanks to their liberal views, you will have the chance to experience their culture and tradition in detail and still be able to live your life without any restrictions.
2. Oh, Boy, they Can Cook!
I remember how my first field trips with Moroccan friends were all about laughing and good food. Even better, men were always in charge of making food on such occasions.
Lighting a fire for barbeque – a piece of cake!
And it doesn’t end there. They don’t feel emasculated if cooking something at home too.
Finally, know that no matter how good a cook you are, chances are that your Moroccan sweetheart will cook better than you.
3. They are Fine Lovers.
Moroccan men in bed are fire!
They have the moves and they don’t go directly for the main dish. They keep it slow just so you have time to get in the mood.
They are sensitive to your needs and will not do anything you are not comfortable with.
1. They are Jealous.
At first, this might be cute but later on, it might bother you. The reason is that they will compare you to their women who are a bit reserved when it comes to regular social interaction so you might strike them as flirtatious.
2. They Can Insist on the Assumed Gender Roles.
The Moroccan guy stereotypes claiming they like to be “the man” are very often true. Even though you are equal partners he will still enjoy being referred to as the one in charge.
However, this is more pronounced in guys from rural parts of the country. The city guys and the guys with education degree are dispensing with this belief so you will have to give them a slight push.
How to Win a Heart of a Moroccan Guy
Now that I’ve told you what are Moroccan guys like, let’s see how to improve your chances of dating one.
The following Moroccan men dating tips will come in handy so read carefully.
1. Respect the Family
Moroccans often feel very close to their families and if you intend to be a Moroccan man’s girlfriend, you must never disrespect the family.
You might think otherwise, but Moroccans are very generous and once you start dating a Moroccan man, he will lavish you with presents.
So you can at least return the favour by being polite, even though they tend to ask way too many personal questions.
But, just go with the flow.
Moroccans are pretty traditional people, and you can’t blame their mothers and grannies for wanting to know that their beloved little boy is in good hands, right?
2. Respect the Culture
Never EVER say to a Moroccan man that you don’t understand their customs and tradition and that as a consequence he should stop practising them.
As I said many times, Moroccans are very traditional people and they wouldn’t appreciate it if they heard that you find something they dearly believe in stupid.
I mean, even if you do, this is a part of their personality, and respect that.
Be appreciative and let him do his thing.
Know that there must be reciprocity since he will not impose his beliefs on you so you should not try to convince him to change just because you don’t understand something.
Also, know that Moroccan dating culture is rather different from what we are used to in the West.
So, your dates might be very awkward at first and it won’t feel like dating at all as single Moroccan men have their own way of doing stuff.
But give it some time.
It is worth it, I promise!
3. Make him Feel Like Home
Once you are alone, don’t be aggressive like us Westerners are often prone to.
Moreover, as their women are reserved in the public, at home they are the complete opposite.
So he will appreciate the peace and tranquillity.
Besides, if you make him his favorite meal you will certainly have a special place in his heart.
As long as he feels comfortable around you, all is well!
4. Language Barrier
The Arabic language is considered as one of the hardest languages to learn due to complicated phonemes.
As for Berber, you will most likely not have a chance to learn or even hear it until you are in the area where they speak it.
So once you find yourself in the country and meet Moroccan guys or when you have to speak to someone online, there might be some issues with the language barrier.
However, the younger population speaks English rather well so you will not have any major obstacles.
Moreover, they also speak Spanish and French and if you speak any of these you are good to go.
Everyone finds it flattering when you go through a little bit of trouble for them, right?
And the fact that you are a woman doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t try a bit, ha!
So try to learn a few basic phrases at least.
It will surely make them feel special and knowing that you went through all that trouble for them.
Man! They will surely try to make it up to you 😉

1. Badr Hari
This Moroccan-Dutch heavyweight kickboxer is one of the most famous Moroccans. And is besides steaming hot!
He was born in 1984 and started practising kick-boxing when he was seven. He has won multiple championships but his career now is at a standstill due to an earned suspension.
2. Saïd Taghmaoui
As for my second representative of steamy Moroccan guys, I chose a French-American actor of Moroccan origin.
He is most famous for his roles in La Haine, Three Kings and Wonder Woman although he makes an appearance in various other widely known films and series such as Lost, American Hustle, The Infiltrator, and John Wick 3: Parabellum.
Although he does not have the conventional male beauty, if I may say so, he still looks hot enough that you would want to date him.
3. Assaad Bouab
Last but not least, Assaad Bouab is another actor on my list.
He was born in 1980 and is of French-Moroccan origin. He gained prominence in a French-Canadian romantic comedy Whatever Lola Wants in 2007 and has subsequently appeared in multiple plays and films.
